Maratha Confederacy, Silver Rupee, Kora Mint, in the name of Shah Alam II, RY 2, horizontal sword and Trisul on obverse, not listed in M&W, 11.15g.
Very Fine, Scarce.
Maheshwari & Wiggins did not list Kora as a Maratha Mint for want of clear historical evidence. However, work by historian B R Andhare on the history of Maratha involvement in Bundelkhand, clearly indicates that Kora was held by the Marathas between 1759 and 1764.
