Graded as F15 BN by NCC, Very Rare.
Ex David Vice Collection. A copper ticket issued by the Patna postmaster at the inception of the General Post Office in Bengal in April 1774 by the authority of Warren
Hastings. According to Pridmore, they were sold in quantity to persons who made frequent use of the postal system. It was a means for ensuring that servants of persons handing letters for dispatch could have the required fees available and avoided the use of money. Postage fees were 2-Annas per single letter for every 100 miles.
