Akbar (1556-1605 AD), Copper Dam, Jaunpur (not visible) Mint, AH 966, 20.61g. Obv: Shahada within circle, names of Rashidoons around. Rev: Full name of emperor (Ja)lal al-Din Muhammad Akbar Badshah Ghazi, with date and traces of inscription (mint-name?) at the top.
About Very Fine, Rare.
Although the name of the mint is not visible, stylistically this coin fits in with the early issues of Jaunpur Mint. The occurrence of Shahada is similar to that on a Silver Rupee and very unusual on a copper coin.
