Silver
Sikh Empire, Silver Rupee (4), Kashmir Mint, 1x VS 1876. This is the first year of rule by the Sikhs after the armies of Ranjit Singh conquered Kashmir in the year 1819 AD. This coin symbolizes the beginning of the rule on Kashmir by the Sikhs and 1x VS 1896, 1x VS 189x and 1x VS 1898. From the partial legibility, the last digit on the rupee with indistinct year appears to be 7. Thus this could make a very good set of three coins of consecutive years of rule on Kashmir by the Sikhs. While the coins of the years VS 1896 and 1897 are those of Mihan Singh as Governor, the coin with the year VS 1898 is that of Sheikh Mohiyuddin as Governor. (4 Coins)
