The denomination on the coin is given as '¼th part of Akbar Shahi Tanka'. A copper 'Akbari Tanka' weighed c. 40 g. which means the legend indicates this is a Quarter Tanka, or Half Fulus and should weigh (c. 40 gm X ¼th =) c. 10 gm. However the weight of the coin is c. 20 g. which corresponds to a Half Tanka in copper, or a full Fulus. This indicates the coin to be an example of an interesting 'mismatch' error - the dies of Quarter Tanka (Half Fulus) have been struck on a blank which is a Half Tanka (full Fulus) in weight. While the error is known to occur on lower denomination copper coins, particularly of the local 'Malwa' series, this is a rare example where it has occurred in case of a full Fulus of an imperial standard.
