An Important Collection of Ancient Coins of 'Dakshina-patha-pati' from North-Central Deccan (Marathwada and Vidarbha). Belonging to the Post-Mauryan / Early Satavahana Period, c. 200-50 BC

Obv: Bull to right, triangle-headed standard behind, Swastika above its back; Brahmi legend Ramño Sebakasa above; countermarked with a tree-in-railing symbol on the head of the bull. Rev: A bold Nandipada, drawn with double lines; a double circle topped by a Shrivatsa to its left, 5.54g.
Very Fine+, Extremely Rare.
From its execution and weight this appears to be a slightly later Sebaka issue. The purpose of the small countermark appears to be a revalidation of the coin while in circulation. No such countermarked Sebaka coins are hitherto reported.
