Obv: Elephant walking to right with trunk upraised, an 'Ujjain' symbol with one orb modified as a Nandipada above its back, Swastika behind; Brahmi legend …Siri Sataka… inscribed along the right margin. Rev: Bull with upraised tail, standing facing right, a wheel with arrowed spokes above its back, a triangle-headed standard behind and a 'cockerel-standard' in its front, 6.82g.
Very Fine, Extremely Rare.
The deployment of the cockerel standard is crucial for understanding of the popularity of the Skanda cult in ancient Maharashtra.
