This coin clearly shows two words following the mint-name 'Qasba Ghiyathpur' which makes it a variety not listed by G&G. A similar coin was published in Mudranusilana by Samaresh Bandyopadhyay where he proposed to read the words as Min Zil Hajj, thus contending it to be the name of the month in which it was struck. However, the legend on this coin makes it absolutely clear that this is not a name of a month. What the words reads remains to be ascertained, but Farman bi-Dahr (“Lord of the World”)s a possible rendering. The second word also looks very much 'Tirhut' and it is likely that the term qualifies the town of Ghiyathpur to be located in Tirhut, where Ghiyath al-Din Bahadur is known to have undertaken campaigns.
