Rev: Standing nimbate figure of the Buddha, wearing monk's robes and making a gesture of reassurance with his right hand; Bactrian legend (SAKAMAN)O BOUDO around.
Fine, Very Rare.
Kanishka's coins depicting the Buddha are one of the earliest human depictions of him. Here he is shown as a 'Muni' or 'seer' of the
Shakya clan, as evident by the title 'Sakamano' which is the Bactrian form of the Sanskrit word Shakyamuni.
