Lot No.452
AUC20
Mughals
Auction Date: 12-04-2015
Copper
Shah Alam II (1760-1806 AD), unattributed late 18th century Copper Takka, 12.54g. RY 45, marks of dagger and flag on the reverse.
Very Fine+, Very Rare.
The mint-name on this coin is yet unread satisfactorily, but is composed of a joint name one of which ends in '-Garh'. Stylistically, it appears to be a coin of Northern Doaba / Uttaranchal region, probably struck as a product of a local mint flourishing with import trade in Nepalese copper.
