South India under Sultanate supremacy, unattributable Silver Square 1/5 Rupee with similar inscriptions, as yet unread but appear to suggest either Abdullah Qutb Shah or Sikandar Adil Shah as the issuer named, 2.70g.
Traces of Mount removed on reverse otherwise Extremely Fine, Very Rare.
It is difficult to say who struck these enigmatic coins, but there are various contenders like local Nayakas, appointees of the Sultans, or Maratha colonizers. A small chance also is of one of the European mercantile companies operating on the Coromandel Coast.
