Gupta Empire, Vishnu Gupta (470-500 AD), Gold Dinar of 'Archer' type, Altekar p. 280, 9.04g. Obv: Nimbate king standing, wearing a tunic, holding a strung bow in one hand and an arrow in the other; a 'Garuda' standard with rounded base to his left, Brahmi legend Vishnu below the arm holding the bow and traces of letters along the margin. Rev: Goddess
Lakshmi seated cross-legged on a lotus, holding lotus in one hand and a noose in the other; Tamgha in the left field and Brahmi legend Sri Chandraditya to right.
Very Fine, Very Rare.
Although the coin names Vishnu Gupta as its issuer, it is possible that it is a later issue as indicated by debasement.
