Ancient Malwa, Uniface monarchical coin (200-150 BC), with issuer's name Bhumimitasa inscribed in early Brahmi characters, within a single bold punch, at right angles to a tree in railing and a six arched hill symbol; traces of a wavy line in exergue. Unpublished in major sources, 4.48g.
About Very Fine, Rare.
Coins of Bhumimitra are known in a few other types such as the 'seated Yogi' type, which are die-struck and have motifs on both sides. This coin is uniface and manufactured by a more simple and indigenous technique.
