Kushans, Huvishka (155-190 AD), Gold Dinar, issued at his second Gold Mint in Gandhara in the second half of his reign, 7.91g. Obv: King’s right hand before his face. Facing left, a bust emerging from a mountain top. He is wearing a pointed crown, decorated with jewels on the side and front, and with diadem ribbons tied at the back, extending over both shoulders. He is wearing a decorated tunic, with pearled ornaments on arms and chest, under a cloak tied at his neck and draped over his solders. He holds a spear over his left solder and a club in his right hand before his face. His head is haloed; the inscription gives the king's name and titles ShAONANO ShAO OOHShKI KOShANO. The club has a die flaw at the tip which has been mistaken for a bird. Rev: Goddess Nana (Kushan royal goddess), with her name miswritten NANO. She is standing facing left. In her right hand she holds a wand tipped by the forepart of a lion, tied with a ribbon and in her left hand she holds a bowl. She wears a diadem with a crescent on her forehead and a long dress covering her feet and a long scarf. Her head is haloed. The royal tamgha is in front of her.
