Maratha Confederacy, Unattributed Copper 'Kachcha Paisa' from the territories in central Maharashtra controlled by the Bhonslas of Nagpur, Unlisted in Kulkarni 'Bhonsla Rajas', 18.71g. Obv: Partly seen S of Julus, with the symbol of a seated figure in it. Rev: Traces of Farsi legend Badshah Ghazi.
Very Fine, Very Rare.
The figure probably represents Renuka Devi of Mahur and as such this could be an issue of that mint. Many mints functioned in Marathwada-Berar region in mid 19th century in response to the cotton trade.
