Jahangir's experiment with 25% heavy coinage ended in the month of Ardibihisht of AH 1020. The coins struck at Agra soon afterwards were noted for expressions of artistic merit of high standards, with each Ilahi month having a specific border in every year. This coin, struck in the month of Tir of AH 1021 has the emperor's name in an octagonal cartouche, while the name of the month, the date and the mint are all inscribed in a 'scalloped octagon' resembling the fusion of eight Mihrabs or 'prayer niches'. The style of inscription is Naskh as against the more usual Nastali'q.
