The weight of this coin suggests that it was struck to the 9-rupee standard, mentioned in the 'Ain-i-Akbari as the 'Adl-gutka. The same treatise gives the name of 'Salimi' as a coin worth half an 'Adl-Gutka' and 'NeemSalimi' as that of a quarter 'Adl-Gutka'. This coin must therefore be recognized as a 'NeemSalimi'. But the book also mentions that a quarter denomination of an 'Ilahi' mohur was called a 'Man', and "as regards gold coins, the custom followed in the imperial mint is to coin La'l-I jalalis, Dhans, and Mans, each coin for the space of a month."
