Sultan of Bengal, Humayun (first reign, 1530-1539 AD), Silver Tanka, 10.54g. 'Arsah' type, G&G B956. Obv: Shahada and "Allah provides for those whom He pleases, without account" in Arabic in five lines; Quranic inscription of names of four kalifas in outer margin. Rev: Muhammad Humayun Badshah Ghazi in four lines in circular border, other titles in the margins.
Very Fine, Rare.
These dateless and mintless type Tankas were struck circa AH 945 (1538/9), just before the standard was changed to a 'Rupee'.
