Western Vidarbha/Eastern Marathwada region of Maharashtra, inscribed monarchical coinage, (2nd Century BC), coin of king Balamitra, 2.68g. Obv: Elephant walking to right with indistinct symbol above its back, Brahmi legend Balamitasa reading clockwise from 9 to 12 o'clock. Rev: Six-armed symbol.
Fine, Very Rare.
Coins of Balamitra are being known for the first time. He was perhaps one of the many '-Mitra' and '-Bhadra' rulers known from coins in this region.
