Roman Empire - silvered follis of Maximianus (first reign, 286-305 AD), Treveri (Trier) mint, struck around 300-301, RIC 462b, 9.24g. Obv: laureate and cuirassed bust of Maximianus facing right; Latin legend IMP MAXIMIANVS P F AVG around. Rev: The Genius of the Roman people, nude but for chlamys, standing front, head to left, wearing kalathos and holding patera in his right hand and cornucopia in his left hand, star to right; Latin legend M SACRA AVGG ET CAESS NN around and ATR in exergue.
