Silver
Nawabs of Bengal, Itimad ud-Daula Mir Qasim (1760-1763 AD), silver 1/8 rupee (2 annas), in the name of Shah Alam II, Munger (Monghyr) mint (off flan), RY 4, 1.40g. The ⅛ rupee was struck with the same die of one rupee as ZENO #328239. Therefore, attribution to Monghyr is plausible.
Uncirculated, Unique.
The Nawab of Bengal, Itimad Ud-Daula Mir Qasim (1760-1763) shifted his capital from Murshidabad to Munger in June,1762 (12/1175 AH). After a year reign he was removed from the Nawab by the East India Company in July 1763(12/1176 AH). During this period, Mir Qasim glorified the Munger city and established a mint there and issued coins. Interestingly this fraction is minted from a Nazarana die which is entirely different from conventional Munger coins bears Sun symbol, Instead, it has a five dot rosette symbol on the obverse side. As we get conventional Sun Siccas in the Hizri year 1177 AH from Munger mint, so it must be issued by the company. This new design was introduced by the Nawab probably to differentiate from normal sun siccas of other Bengal mints which were mainly controlled by the company to depreciate their values in 'Battas', which was one of the main reason behind the war between Nawab and company. Either this Nazarana die was not circulated due to the pressure of the company or withdrawn after the fall of Mir Qasim.

Silver

Extremely fine with patina, Exceedingly rare.
Tipu Sultan coins were always struck with coarse milling and have a unique pattern. It is possible that Tipu Sultan's French artisans originated oblique milling style. Tipu Sultan experimented with oblique milling in the later part of 1219 AM (1791 AD). In 1220 AM, the old method of coarse milling was revived. This experiment short lived as coins of no other date have this feature. The Oblique Milling coins were struck only for one year.
1/4 rupee with Oblique milling edge is unpublished in major publications.
