Ghiyath al-Din Muhammad Damghan Shah was one of the most powerful rulers of the short-lived Madurai Sultanate. His gold coinage is of exceptional rarity and is distinguished by the adoption of the ambitious title Sikandar al-Thani ("The Second Alexander"), a title famously adopted by Alauddin Khalji of Delhi.
