Sultans of Delhi, Suris, silver ½ rupee of Sher Shah (1538-1545 AD), Agra mint (fully visible), AH 948, struck from special dies, Caliphs type 3, G&G D772 (listed as RRR), 5.65g. Obv: Shahada in rectangular border, names of Rashidoons with their titles abu bakr al-siddiq, umar al-faruq, uthmān al-affan and ali al-murtada in quadrants. Rev: In rectangular border, Arabic legend sultan sher shah khallada allah mulkahu, with AH date at top and Devanagari legend Sri Serasahi in a compartment; other title al-sultan al-adil abu'l muzaffar farid al-dunya wa'l din around with mint-name zarb agra in bottom quadrant.
A wonderfully preserved and alluring specimen, well-centered with superb eye appeal. Extremely fine, Exceedingly rare.
Notably, only two other examples of this type were found in the sales archives to date, making this an exceptional opportunity for advanced collectors to fill a missing spot in their collection.
