BRYAN, Texas — Six of the rail cars that were damaged in a derailment in late July in Bryan will have the fuel gas inside of them moved to other tank cars for transportation out of town.

According to the City of Bryan, the work will take place around F and B Road and Wellborn Road and will be done over the course of three days starting the morning of Monday, Oct. 16. The city says no road closures should be required.

The Bryan Fire Department will be in the area and have their mobile command unit set up to assist with Union Pacific Railroad operations during the time.

The city also says that there will be "no impact to the public or environment during this process and air monitoring will be conducted continuously throughout the transfer operation."
